About Tintagel Castle

On its high Cornish headland Tintagel has long been associated with the legend of King Arthur. The twelfth century ruins were rescued from obscurity by the romantic Victorians who put in the bridge that connects the island part of the castle to the mainland.

Our view shows the castle’s Inner Courtyard and site of the Great Hall, much of which fell into the sea long ago.

The building is in the care of English Heritage.
